Kelly Quill, Liberty Hill Proprietor & Executive Director

Susan Desmond-Mysliwicz: Instructor, Barn Manager
Susan has been riding, showing and working with horses for more than 46 years. She has competed successfully in Adult Hunter, Jumper, Equitation and Pleasure divisions at both USEF & NEHC rated shows as well local schooling shows. Susan has also competed very successfully in the Eventing discipline through Training Level (3’3” stadium and cross country fences) and First Level dressage.
Susan loves teaching students of all ages and abilities. Her believe is that the first and most important requirement for a student is a genuine love for horses and concern for their well-being. Next is a desire to learn and better understand how horses think, move and interact with riders, handlers and each other. There is no need to rush the learning process; learning good horsemanship and safe, solid riding skills is a process well worth the time invested!
Susan is a very kind and patient instructor – without compromising achievement of goals in lessons. She also has a great sense of humor and a warm and welcoming smile for her students, rejoicing in their successes and encouraging them with their challenges!
Jamie McCabe: Instructor, IEA Coach
Jamie began riding at Liberty Hill with Kelly at age 12. Since 2002 her quiet dedication to becoming the best horsewoman she could be became apparent, as did her loyalty to Liberty Hill. As a young teenager, Jamie became involved as a working student and helped with show grooming, barn chores, birthday parties and everything else in between. With her solid foundation and detailed education she could probably work anywhere…but we are very blessed to have her right here with us. After college, Jamie now dedicates her full time as Manager of the stable and Liberty Hill horses, Instructing and directing the winter and summer vacation programs. Jamie has a wonderful way with children and adults alike, teaching timid beginners “the ins and outs of all things ponies” are her specialty. She quietly encourages trust between instructor, child and pony which creates the bond that makes riding a magical experience.
